Other Things Expected and Left Behind
Simbart Projects hosts Begüm Mütevellioğlu’s solo exhibition titled ‘Wall, Passage, Garden’ between 12 January and 2 March. The exhibition traces the common way of existence that combines the glowing and damping flow of remembrance of a time in the solidity of space, around the concept of identity shaped by space. While the wall indicates a closed imaginary fiction created by a gap in the space, the passage represents a permeable space where humanity interacts with each other, and the garden contains the traces of a desired but unattainable landscape. The exhibition ‘Wall, Passage, Garden’ aims to transform these references based on the memories into a visual form by interpreting the spatial phenomena that the artist comes into contact with through the body, memory space and social space.
