Begüm Mütevellioglu (b.1983) has graduated from Marmara University, Department of Painting and Business Teaching in 2005 and Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Painting in 2011. She completed her master’s degree in the same department in 2019 and Proficiency in Art education in 2023. By reflecting her living and productive habitats, Mütevellioglu aims to convey the internalized order and tranquility in her works using spaces that are sometimes included or sometimes not physicially present but has a sense of belonging. Her materials, it can be any object that may exist in the house or workshop. By emphasizing the idea that every object can be the subject of a work of art, the artist aims to transform elements full of references based on memories into a form of visual communication. In the space, every detail conveys objects, human and plant figures and certain objects are privileged. These elements or figures are in the position of a subject on the paintings that reminds us something. The artist had her solo exhibition titled ‘Wall, Passage, Garden’ at Simbart Projects between January – February 2024. Begüm is represented by Simbart Projects and lives in Istanbul, Turkey.
