Metin Katırcılar was born in Karabük in 2000. He graduated from Safranbolu Fine Arts High School in 2018. In 2022, he completed his undergraduate education at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. In 2025, he completed his Master’s degree with thesis in the Department of Painting at the Graduate School of Düzce University.

The concepts of memory, identity, and existence lie at the center of his work. He examines the fluid, reconstructible, and complex nature of memory, particularly the processes of remembering and forgetting. He addresses these themes through family photographs, spaces, and objects, drawing on his own personal memory.
