Maya is a multidisciplinary artist creating moving and still images, stories, and installations that explore the familiar and unfamiliar. Through imagined companions and quiet encounters, her work reflects on identity, memory, and what it means to exist somewhere, as someone. Her most recent solo exhibition, The room doesn’t sleep, it hums back., took place in London in 2025. She previously presented Floating on Land in Deptford, London, and the duo exhibition Here, a moment ago at the Istanbul Design Museum in 2024. She participated in the From the Field project and exhibition, which was supported under the British Council’s Inclusivity through Art & Design grant. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Maya also works across illustration, animation, and design. Her animated short film have received awards at festivals including the World of Film International Festival Glasgow and been featured in official selections such as Raindance and Venezia Shorts.
