Berk Şenol (b. 2000) completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Painting at Dokuz Eylül University’s Faculty of Fine Arts. Based in İzmir, he continues to develop his practice there. His work involves documenting the events, situations, and experiences he encounters in everyday life through photography and writing. Through these records, he explores the relationship between experience and memory, as well as how experiences evolve over time. Drawing on these accumulated records, he produces works across various mediums, including painting, photography, and artist’s books. Photography plays a defining role in the formal and compositional development of his practice. At times, he approaches photography as a singular image; at others, he brings photographs together in sequences, generating new meanings through the relationships established between them.
