Alternative States
Simbart Projects hosts the group exhibition titled ‘Alternative States’ featuring works by Elif Acar, Ece Kibaroğlu, Yeşim Özkan, and Berk Şenol between 19 November – 30 December. The exhibition explores the transformations undergone by objects, spaces, and meanings, and the traces these transformations leave behind. What remains when something changes, loses its function, disappears, or turns into another memory? Transformation is approached as a space in which metamorphosis continues and new meanings emerge. Extending from individual memory to ecological relationships, from changing environmental conditions to the transitions between objects and concepts, the works bring together different modes of existence in which what remains continues to transform.
