Site-specific work is a term that generally describes Merve Ünsal’s works. The artist, who allows a controlled construction but then politely departs from this construction, now allows the process itself to flow. At this stage, what is added, what is removed, what changes form, what turns into form, in short, all processes come together and are experienced. Thus, it invites us from a linear perspective built from a single point at a single moment to a more holistic and comprehensive cyclical perspective. By showing the dual face of truth and representation in this way, shouldn’t we accept the invitation to move from the singular perspective to which we are forced to adhere to, to a plural perspective?
