Aras Seddigh

Aras Seddigh (b. 1982, Tehran) After graduating from Azad University with a degree in Computer Engineering, Seddigh completed a master’s degree in Visual Arts at Sabancı University in 2013. Her solo exhibitions took place at Galeri Nev İstanbul in 2013, 2016, 2018, and 2022, with a portion of her 2022 project exhibited at the Climate Museum in Gazhane, Istanbul.

Aras Seddigh’s works consist of hybrid images featuring architectural elements that explore concepts such as the transformation of the mind, the escape from the flow of time, and the memories of an undefined time and space. The artist creates a mixture of elements that do not belong to any specific place or era, aiming to form temporary identities by synthesizing organic and artificial, living and inanimate components. This synthesis results in images where the illusion of surface and depth intertwine. As a method, Seddigh alternates between different materials within the same series, altering the characteristics of the pictorial elements. This approach highlights the ideas of balance, imbalance, and tension created through the varying relationships among the elements.
